Strawberry jam

I was cleaning out my freezer ready for my Christmas  dinner shopping  and thought  id have a bit of a use it up challenge. I found 5 punnets of strawberries, some fish fillets of a few varieties and some brioche bread, so first up the fish was for dinner tonight with mashed potatos and the brioche will be french toast and bread and butter pudding for the weekend and lastly the strawberries will be slow cooker strawberry  jam which i haven't  made befor , traditional  method yes but not in the slow cooker, but im tired so experiment i will.. so in the slow cooker i added the 1200grams of strawberries, 1 cup of water ,juice of half a lemon and 3 cups of sugar and set it on auto. Hopefully  in the morning i have jam and not a burnt or sloppy mess.

BACK TO THE START

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!.
Wow that 2017 flew by, I cant believe its been just over a year since my last post. I know now why some bloggers just vanish, they most likely still have many wonderful events to share, but there are also some other moments that leave us speechless and unable to feel enough joy to share the good. Everything and stage  in life has a season, last year was a bit of a winter to me, and id rather not go there, but it ended on a few high if not exhausting notes.
So my post heading is exactly how I want to start and continue my year, I want to get back to what delights me and what I m good at and also learn lots of new things, and most of all how to roll with punches a little better and to finally tackle how and when to say yes and no better. I hope your year is a great one and I hope mine is too. x

Seaside and an unexpectanded journey

Wow ! What a busy time, last week we visited our granddaughter Bella for her fourth birthday, followed by a quick visit to Sydney for business, all was going well until our car started over heating and so began the unexpected part of the trip, a 7 hour drive back home turned into a 32 hour trip, it all turned out well in the end as we ended up staying in our old home town of Bowral and had a lovely catch-up with my dear friend Sue-Ellen, it s funny how things work out sometimes.
